Artist's Comments

This illustration is based off of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. It portrays, in a style that is supposed to be reminiscent of the mannerists as well as 1st and 2nd edition Warhammer 40,000 including the top-loaded bolter, a dead hero of the Imperial Fist Space Marine chapter and those he took with him. Even in death, he looks unquestionably formitable.

It was drawn on 11'x14' paper with a .5mm HB mechanical pencil a number of years ago.

What can I say, as far as traditional art (my favourite style) goes, this is just freaking awesome.

Based on the size, technique, and my use of pencils at that time, I would say it probably took me between 2 and 4 hours.
